Oh yes. The new year has me feeling generous. Today you not only get 1, not 2 but three whole recipes. As most of you know, I am not a fan of oats. however you will find plenty of oat recipes on this blog such as  Coconut and banana Oat bites or these Mixed Berries and Yoghurt Oatmeal Muffins and many many more. This is becasue I know that oats are great for me.  They are a really great breakfast option and I want to incorporate them into my diet as much as possible. The problems comes when I have to eat oats as just oats. The texture really gets to me and it has taken me a while to actually enjoy them, Persistence is the key. Persistence and coming up with exciting ways to make my oats.

One thing I know is that I like my oats creamy. To get this, I first make them with milk and after they are cooked, I add in some yoghurt and stir it in. After this , It is all up to you to pick whatever toppings you have. Today, I will share with you three ways I have been having my oats. INGREDIENTS

-Yoghurt
-Milk
-Oats
-Flax seeds
-Chia Seeds
-Honey
-Cocoa
-Fruit (Staraberry, banana, Mango)

OATMEAL

The basics for making oatmeal are the same. To make one serving…..

-Place 1/4 cup of oats in a microwave safe bowl. Add 1/2 cup of milk, and ground up flax seeds and some sugar or Honey. Microwaver for 3 minutes or less depending on the wattage of your microwave.

-Remove from microwave and add in 1/4 cup of yogurt and 1 tsp of chia seeds and mix properly

-The oats are ready for your toppings

3 WAYS TO MAKE BREAKFAT OATS

  1. Chocolate and Banana Oatmeal

    – To make the chococlate oatmeal. Add a Tbsp of cocoa to the oats before microwaving. Top it off with banana, strawberries (optional) and some shaved dark chocolate

  2. Mango and Chia Seeds

    I wasn’t sure about how mango and oats would taste but this has become my favorite. The sweetness of the mango creates a really great contrast with the oats

  3. Strawberry and Honey

    Strawberries and Honey are a great combination. For this recipe, I added some extra yogurt on top.
